The bus is a major part of the region’s transportation system carrying more than 600,000 riders per weekday.
People rely on the bus. 55% of Metrobus customers do not own a personal vehicle and 52% live in households earning $30,000 or less.
The region had 60 miles of bus lanes in 1976. In 2019, the region has less than 10 miles of dedicated bus lanes.
