InsideNova: Head of N.Va. Chamber announces plan to depart in coming months

“Jim Corcoran, who as president and CEO of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce oversaw the organization’s renaming and transition to a broader-based mission, will depart sometime during the second quarter of this year, chamber leaders announced April 2….

…Corcoran took the helm at the chamber in March 2010, succeeding Bill Lecos, who had served as CEO for seven years.

Harry Klaff, chair of the chamber’s board of directors, said Corcoran’s tenure had been “fantastic.”

“We’ve become a leader of business for Northern Virginia and taken leadership positions,” he said. “Most notable is our involvement with [Metrorail advocacy group] MetroNow, which has turned out fantastic results.”…”
